Tenmat is seeking a dedicated Security Officer to join our team in Irlam. You will play a vital role in maintaining the security of our site, supporting approximately 200 employees, and providing essential first aid and reception support outside normal office hours.
Key Responsibilities:
* Ensure the site is safe and secure at all times in line with Tenmat security procedures.
* Lock and unlock pedestrian gates, service yard gates, barriers and building entrances.
* Provide a physical presence at the entrance barrier during staff arrival.
* Conduct six physical patrols per night (weekdays and weekends).
* Carry out hourly CCTV patrols using your individual login.
* Operate fire alarms, intruder alarms, access control systems and other safety/security equipment.
* Maintain accurate logs and records including diary entries, handovers, key logs, licence checks, deliveries/collections, pool car documentation, energy reports, accidents, incidents and diesel logs.
* Check in visitors and contractors and notify their site host.
* Manage contractor permits, inductions, swipe cards and associated documents.
* Answer telephone calls professionally at all times.
* Provide First Aid cover for the entire site and complete mandatory reporting.
* Check and maintain first aid stock levels across the site.
* Support with training of new and temporary security personnel.
* Complete weekly fire alarm tests and monthly fire equipment checks.
* Carry out hourly lone-worker safety check calls outside normal office hours.
* Perform Means of Escape checks, external lighting checks and tagging schedule tasks.
* Access and update Smart Log daily.
* Ensure GDPR compliance.
* Carry out any other tasks appropriate to your skills and experience.
What We’re Looking For:
- Previous security experience (preferred)
- Excellent communication and a professional approach
- Ability to work independently and remain alert on 12-hour shifts
- Flexibility to cover additional shifts, including short-notice requirements
- First Aid qualification (or willingness to train)
- Strong attention to detail and accurate record-keeping
- Competence using digital systems and security technology
