The Royal Conservatoire of Scotland is a world-class centre of excellence in performing arts education, encompassing music, film, performance, dance, production, education and research. As the Health, Safety and Wellbeing Manager, you will play a key role in shaping and managing policies and practices that ensure a safe and supportive environment for staff, students and visitors across all areas of the Conservatoire’s activity.
In this role, you will provide expert guidance and support on occupational health and safety matters, working closely with colleagues to help them fulfil their responsibilities as outlined within the Conservatoire’s Health and Safety Policy. You will take the lead in developing and delivering training and resources across a range of formats to enhance knowledge and promote best practices throughout the organisation.
You will also have delegated responsibility for managing and developing policy in the following areas:
• Health and Safety
• Child Protection
• Protection of Vulnerable Adults
• Occupational Health and Wellbeing
You must have a degree (or comparable qualification) in either Health and Safety or a related discipline. You must be able to demonstrate previous relevant experience of leading on the development and implementation of organisational strategy in relation to health, safety and wellbeing along with excellent working knowledge of health and safety legislation and industry good practice with demonstrable experience of their application and transferability to Higher Education.
You will be confident and articulate, with excellent communication and presentation skills. Your ability to assess and interpret complex issues, make sound judgements, and provide practical, strategic solutions will be key. Strong organisational, planning and analytical skills are also essential to thrive in this role.
