Exams Officer Role in a Secondary School
A well-established secondary school in Liverpool is seeking to appoint an Exams Officer to join its administration team. This is a full-time role within a busy and supportive school environment that values accuracy, organisation, and effective operational management.
The exams team plays a key role in ensuring the smooth planning, coordination, and delivery of all internal and external examinations across the school.
About the Role
You will be responsible for the administration and coordination of all public examinations, ensuring compliance with awarding body regulations and smooth delivery during examination periods.
The role involves liaising with staff, students, parents, and examination boards, as well as managing exam entries, timetables, seating plans, and results processing.
You will work closely with senior leadership and administration teams to ensure examinations are delivered efficiently, accurately, and in line with regulations.
Key Responsibilities
* Manage the administration of internal and external examinations
* Submit and track exam entries with awarding bodies
* Create and coordinate exam timetables and seating plans
* Ensure compliance with JCQ and awarding body regulations
* Organise invigilation staff and examination logistics
* Communicate exam arrangements to staff, students, and parents
* Support results day processes and post-results enquiries
* Maintain accurate and secure examination records

Candidate Requirements
Essential Requirements
* Experience in administration or examinations (school experience desirable)

* High attention to detail and accuracy
* Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
* Strong communication and IT skills
Desirable
* Experience as an Exams Officer or in a similar school role
* Knowledge of JCQ regulations and exam procedures
* Familiarity with SIMS or school MIS systems
