Overview
As an Electrician, you will carry out maintenance on electrical equipment on our Advanced Anaerobic Digestion and Wastewater assets. Your responsibilities will include maintaining, repairing and installing equipment as part of the main MEI teams, fault-finding and rectifying problems with electrical systems and ancillary equipment, and ensuring overall asset performance through electrical systems work.
Responsibilities
* Maintain, repair and install equipment as part of the main MEI teams, to work individually or as part of a team. Fault-find and rectify problems with electrical systems and ancillary equipment.
* Install, maintain and repair electrical systems generally to ensure performance of all assets.
* Read, understand and work from electrical drawings.
* Maintain general knowledge and participate in training and knowledge sessions on the AAD and Wastewater treatment process.
* Actively participate in Risk Assessments, COSHH assessments and all related Health and Safety issues.
* Identify problematic plant and faults, and contribute to finding efficient solutions to restore equipment to working order.
* Identify requirements for spares and materials using preferred suppliers.
* Complete all job cards and timesheets to enable workload and performance monitoring.
* Provide knowledge and onsite support for DCWW Operational Teams, fellow DCWW Craft Members and other stakeholders.
Qualifications
* Fully qualified electrician
* Full UK Driving Licence
* Excellent understanding of planning and scheduling of work processes
* Ability to develop positive working relationships and be a credible team representative
* Ability to take responsibility, make decisions and use initiative, working proactively
* Solution-focused approach to resolving problems
* Critical thinking to analyse information and provide effective solutions
* Strong communication and ability to influence others
* Compliance with 18th Edition IEE regulations is desirable but not essential

* The successful candidate will participate in a standby rota and complete 260 hours of Planned Work Time.
* A company van will be provided for business use.
