Overview
Are you an experienced Engineer with CAD design expertise? This role is for a North Yorkshire based client seeking a Planning Engineer (Mining) with experience in mining, shaft sinking, or tunnelling works.
Responsibilities
* Designs and implements shaft sinking with mechanised SBR technology.
* Produces construction methods based on design.
* Maintains outstanding CAD experience to produce drawings and alterations for new and existing designs (design-focused workload).
* Maintains high level of expertise in shaft sinking or the mining sector.
* Develops solutions to engineering and field-related issues arising from project installation activities.
* Provides timely and complete resolution to technical questions and requests for information.
* Maintains Project As-Built drawings.
* Ensures compliance with job specifications.
* Health and Safety: has authority to stop and correct to maintain a safe and efficient working environment; follows company health and safety standards and reports unsafe acts or conditions to Supervisor.
* Responsible for the use and maintenance of all safety equipment (e.g., lanyards, warning signs and labeling) according to company rules and applicable legislation; ensures proper use and maintenance of personal protective equipment.
* Must have knowledge of WHMIS legislation and how to effectively use an MSDS sheet.
Experience and Qualifications
* Experience using SAP software.
* Strong, high-level experience with computer-aided design (CAD) platforms.
* Experience using MS Project, P6 Primavera, MS Office, AutoCAD, 3D-CAD, Excel, etc.
* Strong communication, interpersonal, and conflict resolution skills.
* Critical thinking and problem-solving skills; data analytics experience.
* Ability to follow instructions and comply with policies and procedures.
* Role is subject to a medical; must be physically fit and able to pass a safety-critical medical and drugs and alcohol screening.
* Applicants must be British or Irish passport holders or have a valued Right to Work Visa for the UK.
Role Details
* Hours: Mon – Fri, 50 hours per week, on-site schedule either #removed# or 07:00–17:00.
* Salary: circa £58–59k per annum.
