Buyer (Fresh) – Drive Growth with a Leading Food & Retail Group
My client is hiring a commercially sharp Buyer (Fresh) to lead key fresh categories across their dynamic retail, wholesale, and foodservice business.
The Role:
You’ll take charge of supplier relationships, promotions, and range strategy—maximising sales and margin across defined fresh food categories. This role is all about balancing commercial success with product availability, working closely with supply chain and sales teams.
Key Responsibilities:
* Manage product availability and stock levels in line with business targets
* Develop new initiatives and areas of business which will drive sales
* Plan and execute effective, competitive, and supplier-funded promotions
* Analyse market trends and recommend actions to stay competitive
* Support cross-functional teams to ensure category profitability across all channels
What You'll Need:
* 5+ years in a Buying or Trading experience within Retail
* Experience in fresh food is a strong advantage
* Proven track record of supplier negotiation and profit delivery
* Strong understanding of category management and supply chain dynamics
* Confident working with senior stakeholders and leading teams
