Pharmacy Technician
Yorkshire Clinic, Bingley
Full Time, Hours per week
The Yorkshire Clinic in Bingley, West Yorkshire is a leading private hospital with an excellent reputation for the highest standard of care. Consultants from a wide range of clinical specialities offer a range of services to private and NHS patients, allowing the pharmacy team to utilise a broad range of clinical skills.
We are seeking a proactive and motivated pharmacy technician to contribute to the delivery of high-quality pharmacy services within the hospital.
The role:
As a key member of the department, you will support the team in the provision of pharmacy services, including ordering, stock control and preparation of drugs and medicines. This will include providing advice to patients and clinical staff on pharmaceutical products (within the limits of your role), and ensuring accurate, legal dispensing and issuing of prescriptions for inpatients and outpatients.
Key responsibilities include:
1. Ensuring accurate and legal dispensing and issue of prescriptions for inpatients and outpatients as specified in Ramsay Health Care Policies and Procedures
2. Undertaking duties in relation to the manufacture of pharmacy goods
3. Supporting the pharmacist to ensure that Inpatient Prescription Record Charts are checked regularly to ensure treatment is appropriate, both clinically and financially and that the patient has sufficient supplies
4. Providing straightforward advice to patients/carers and clinical staff on pharmaceutical products.
5. Supervising, training and coaching new pharmacy staff if applicable
6. Ensuring that the agreed standards of patient care and confidentiality are maintained in accordance with Ramsay policies
7. Adhering to GPhC Standards of conduct, ethics and performance
8. To take part in Weekend, Bank Holiday and extended hours rotas
What you'll bring with you:
9. NVQ2/3, BTEC in Pharmaceutical Science or equivalent level
10. Member of the General Pharmaceutical Council (pharmacy technician)
11. At least 4 GCSEs (A-C), including English, Maths and Science or equivalent qualifications
12. Sound written and verbal communication skills
13. Proven ability to work effectively in a team environment and independently as required
14. Flexibility and adaptability to meet the changing needs of the business
15. Demonstrated Customer Service skills
16. Demonstrated Computer Skills
17. It would also be desirable for the applicant to have experience working in a hospital environment
