You will:
* Lead the accounting function for Gopuff UK.
* Ensure all company accounts are accurately maintained, compliant with accounting standards, and delivered on time.
* Oversee end-to-end accounting operations.
* Manage Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR).
* Ensure accurate and prompt vendor payments to support smooth business operations and strong vendor relationships.
* Apply technical accounting expertise while managing and developing your team.
* Thrive in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
Key responsibilities:
* Own the UK accounting close process, ensuring all accounts are correctly posted, reconciled, and delivered on time monthly, quarterly, and annually.
* Oversee preparation of statutory accounts and liaise with external auditors for timely filings and compliance with UK GAAP/IFRS.
* Lead and manage the AP team, ensuring efficient, accurate, and timely processing of all vendor invoices.
* Oversee the AR function, ensuring timely and accurate customer billing, credit control, and cash collections.
* Ensure compliance with local tax regulations, including VAT, PAYE, and corporate tax submissions.
* Lead, coach, and develop a small but high-performing accounting and AP team.
* Maintain robust processes to prevent duplicate, incorrect, or fraudulent payments.
You have:
* Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).
* Proven experience in a senior finance role with ownership of accounting and AP functions.
* Experience in a high-growth, fast-paced environment (retail, FMCG, tech, or logistics preferred).
* Strong technical accounting knowledge (UK GAAP/IFRS).
* Strong communication skills and ability to influence senior stakeholders.
