Job Description

Join ALPADIA’s team to make summer an unbelievable experience! We are looking for highly motivated people, who have the ability to engage and inspire young students, and who are looking for an enriching and educational experience themselves.

We are currently recruiting English Language Teacher/ Fashion Teacher on a fixed term summer contract.

Your role:

2. Safeguard and promote the wellbeing of all students in our care
3. Ensure all language tuition is appropriate to a camp environment in line with the Alpadia syllabus and course structure
4. Have and demonstrate a sound knowledge and awareness of the use of English and the linguistic systems underlying it, providing appropriate models of both spoken and written English
5. Ensure the content of the lessons considers the course objectives, the learning needs, and cultural backgrounds of the students
6. Ensure each lesson leads to relevant learning outcomes, which are made known to students, and which are achieved through a coherent sequence of activities
7. Ensure the teaching techniques are appropriate to the focus of the lesson and to the needs of the group and individual learners
8. Ensure learning is promoted by the effective management of the classroom environment and resources
9. Ensure students receive appropriate and timely feedback on their performance during the lesson
10. Ensure lessons include activities to evaluate whether learning is taking place
11. Ensure students are engaged and create positive learning atmosphere is created
12. Show initiative to ensure the syllabus is adapted to meet the specific needs of our students, both at a class and individual level
13. Encourage the sole use of the target language in classrooms wherever possible, both from the students and the other teachers
14. Always represent ALPADIA in the best possible way, being polite and friendly to the students, both inside and outside of the classroom
15. Engage positively in a reflective teaching approach and developmental observation process, embracing an “open-door” classroom policy
16. Arrive at the centre, and ensure all lessons start and finish on time
17. Actively participate in all staff meetings as necessary
18. Attend, and where necessary contribute to, weekly Professional Development Sessions in a spirit of positive engagement
19. Assist with placement testing as required
20. Read, understand, and sign any relevant risk assessments as required
21. Liaise with the Camp Manager/Academic Manager to resolve any instances of issues/questions/concerns raised by students, agents, parents, or other stakeholders
22. Always maintain proper levels of student discipline, safety, and welfare, highlighting any issues to the Camp Manager or Academic Manager

Qualifications

Your profile:

Essential:

23. Level 6 Qualification - Examples:
24. Recognised EFL/ESL teaching qualification (CELTA, Trinity CertTESOL, TEFL).
25. Experience teaching or facilitating groups in an educational, creative, or workshop setting.
26. Understanding of English as a Foreign Language (EFL) teaching principles and strategies.
27. Basic knowledge of fashion-related skills (e.g., design, styling, textiles, upcycling, or sewing).
28. Ability to adapt English language use to learners with varying proficiency levels.
29. Strong classroom and group management skills.
30. Lesson planning skills that combine creative fashion activities with language outcomes.
31. Clear communication and the ability to give step-by-step instructions.
32. Creative, innovative, and enthusiastic about combining language learning with fashion.
33. Patient, supportive, and approachable with learners.
34. Culturally sensitive and able to engage with students from diverse backgrounds.

Desirable:

35. Qualification or training in Fashion, Textiles, or Design.
36. Experience delivering fashion-related workshops (e.g., sewing, styling, sustainable fashion projects).
37. Experience in project-based learning or integrating creative arts with language teaching.
38. Previous experience in summer schools, camps, or multicultural environments.
39. First Aid certificate.
