: The opportunity: We have an exciting opportunity within our Customer Support & Services Line of Business for a Bid Manager to support our Typhoon UK and GCAP Integrated Project Team. You will be responsible for the formulation of bid strategies and building and leading bid teams to develop winning solutions for our customers. This role will be predominantly based at our Edinburgh site with some travel to both Luton and Lincoln in support of our business winning activities. What you'll do as a Bid Manager: Leadership of both competitive and non-competitive bids through to a successful conclusion, ranging from tactical follow-on business through to multi-million pound strategic initiatives. Coordination and management of bids of a range of complexities throughout the Contract Capture phase of the Project lifecycle with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels within the wider Business and with external consortia. 'Hands-on' and flexible management style, working in collaboration with our customers and partners, applying best practice, formulating bid strategies and driving bid teams to find winning solutions. Scheduling, planning and driving bid activities including Win Strategy, Bid Kick-off, WBS development, Bid Progress Reviews, Proposal collation, Red Team reviews and Tender Approvals. Planning, leading & challenging cost build-up and pricing activities from the business Functions. Leading bid teams to identify and analyse Risks and Opportunities, developing mitigation/realisation plans for action post-contract award. Coordination of the proposal document development process, working with the Proposals Manager to develop win themes, outlines, storyboards, graphics and compelling narrative. Planning, securing and managing Bid funding to deliver all bids within budget. Leading the Bid Approval process, ensuring that the appropriate level of Bid Approval is secured. What we need from you: Ability to organise and facilitate all aspects of the bid process, using a wide variety of tools & techniques Practiced in driving and supporting bid teams to deliver on-time winning solutions Ability to work effectively with a geographically dispersed team. Ability to manage multiple concurrent tasks and priorities in a demanding environment. Confidence to communicate It would be nice if you had: Experience in 'Championing' the development of people towards best practices. Experience in identifying, defining and analysing complex requirements collaboratively with Customers and Partners.
