Nurse practitioner

Offer description

We are looking to recruit a Band 7 Senior Practitioner to work as part of the Urgent Treatment Centre team, responsible for providing high-quality healthcare and information to the public. This role offers an opportunity for an experienced and highly motivated practitioner with relevant Adult or Paediatric experience who is committed to contributing to the development of these pioneering services.

As a Registered Nurse, you will support your Manager in ensuring that service users' needs are met through high-quality care delivery. Our centre is a hub of excellence, offering a person-centred approach to independence and well-being.

The services provide treatment for minor injuries and ailments 365 days a year, from 8:00 am to 9:00 pm, with an additional diagnostic X-ray facility available from 8:00 am to 8:00 pm.

If you have post-qualification experience in A&E, Walk-in Centres, or Urgent Care, with recent experience in treating minor ailments and injuries, we would like to hear from you. The role involves acting as a senior clinical professional within Widnes Urgent Treatment Centre, liaising with the UTC team and colleagues across the social and healthcare environment to promote, maintain, and enhance effective multidisciplinary patient care.

The successful candidate will act as an independent practitioner, providing advice to patients and staff, contributing to triage using the Manchester triage system, and managing assessment, diagnosis, planning, and treatment of patients. You should possess extended skills in managing a wide range of healthcare problems, including minor illnesses and injuries.

You will maintain high standards in clinical procedures, be responsible for the safe custody of medication, and ensure compliance with our clinical governance framework. The role requires motivating colleagues, championing patient safety and dignity, and driving continuous improvement.

You will exercise professional independent and clinical judgment in managing or referring clients to appropriate primary and secondary care services. Leadership skills are essential to drive the team towards efficient, safe practices and improved patient care.

Flexible working arrangements will be considered. Please note, we do not hold a sponsor licence for working visas.

At Bridgewater, our PEOPLE values shape how we deliver NHS services in your local community. These values—Person-centred, Empowered, Open and Honest, Professional, Locally Lead, and Efficient—reflect what is important to our staff and guide our commitment to improving local health and wellbeing.
