The NDA File Handler role involves working within a team of fraud specialists and legal support staff. The File Handler will manage a caseload of Litigated RTA suspected fraud files for various insurance clients, working closely with claims handlers without Delegated Authority. The successful candidate will collaborate with the Lead Lawyer to achieve optimal results in a commercially sound manner. The role requires following defined processes and applying a forensic, analytical approach to evidence, with a high level of commercial awareness. Decision-making within set timeframes, aligned with case strategy and client interests, is essential.
The NDA File Handler will work strategically to ensure all litigation opportunities are maximized, shaping the future of counter-fraud efforts. The caseload includes various suspected fraudulent claims such as:
* Bogus Passenger
* Staged/Contrived
* Fraudulent Exaggeration
* Induced accidents
* Low Speed Impact
* Late Notification Claims
* Credit Hire Fraud
* MIB
* Linked & Organised Crime
Key Responsibilities
The role involves managing fraud cases from litigation to resolution, including:
* Strategic Excellence
* Reviewing and analyzing evidence throughout each case
* Setting and agreeing on case strategies with clients, following strategies set by Lead Lawyer and Technical Leads
* Adhering to all process stages
* Identifying litigation opportunities and complex cases
* Recognizing client trends and opportunities to enhance client relationships

* Managing files according to client guidelines independently
* Maximizing client satisfaction
* Completing all internal and client reporting accurately and promptly
* Meeting KPIs for clients and internal standards

* Reporting to insurers throughout the claim process

* Achieving optimal litigation results, including advocacy when appropriate
* Proactively managing case investigations and strategy from receipt to resolution

Working Hours
35 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm, with 1 unpaid lunch hour. The primary location is Bolton, Parklands Office. We promote flexible working with at least one day in the office weekly.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
* Experience in civil litigation claims handling or relevant qualifications (ILEX, LPC, etc.)
* Handling linked and organised fraud is desirable but not essential
* Experience with RTA pre-litigated and litigated caseloads
* Understanding of insurance litigation practices and principles
* Knowledge of litigation processes and CPR
* Strong advocacy skills
* Excellent client care and communication skills
* High analytical ability
* Ability to prioritize, meet deadlines, and work under pressure
* Problem-solving skills
* Experience with time recording and billing systems
* Proficient IT skills
