4‑day working week
Mon–Thur 7am–5pm
Tues–Fri 7am–9pm

* Full spectrum of routine servicing, diagnostics & repairs
* Maintenance of cars and light commercial vehicles

* Level 3 Light Vehicle qualification (minimum)

Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Light Vehicle Technician to inspect, diagnose, service and repair a fleet of light vehicles, ensuring they are safe, legal, roadworthy and fit for operational use.
The role plays a key part in maintaining vehicle availability, reducing downtime and delivering a highquality technical service through effective fault finding, efficient repairs and clear customer communication.
Key Responsibilities
Carry out diagnostics, servicing, repairs and preventative maintenance on light vehicles
Undertake statutory inspections, calibrations and MOT preparation (where qualified)
Ensure all vehicles comply with legal, safety and roadworthiness requirements
Accurately complete job cards, inspection reports and maintenance records
Liaise with customers to explain work completed and agree priorities
Identify repair costs, warranty opportunities and endoflife vehicle concerns
Order parts responsibly and support cost control
Support and mentor apprentices or trainees when required
Maintain workshop tools and equipment in a safe, calibrated condition
Follow all Health & Safety, safe working and quality procedures
Participate in outofhours standby or breakdown cover when required
Maintain uptodate technical knowledge through training and industry developments

Responsible for the quality, safety and legality of all work completed
Works independently to prioritise workload and meet service demands
May supervise or support 1–2 apprentices or trainees
Works on highvalue fleet vehicles and associated equipment
Skills, Knowledge & Experience
Essential
NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Light Vehicle Maintenance & Repair
Previous experience as a Light Vehicle Technician in a workshop environment
Strong diagnostic and faultfinding capability
Good understanding of vehicle legislation, Health & Safety and COSHH
Ability to complete job records and technical documentation accurately
Strong communication skills and ability to prioritise under pressure
Full UK driving licence
Own basic tool kit
Desirable
MOT Tester qualification (or willingness to achieve)
Experience mentoring apprentices or trainees
Experience working with fleet or commercial vehicles
