Role: Painter & Decorator at HC-One
As a Painter & Decorator, you will undertake painting and decorating duties to present the homes to the highest standards, helping HC-One become the First Choice Care Home in the community. You will maintain a clean, safe, and homely environment to meet the needs of Residents and Colleagues. Flexibility and responsiveness to the changing needs of the Homes are essential.
You will report immediately to the Home Manager or Person in Charge any illness of an infectious nature or accidents involving Residents, Colleagues, yourself, or others. Understanding and ensuring the implementation of the Care Home’s Health and Safety policies, as well as Emergency and Fire procedures, is required. This full-time position covers multiple care homes, so the ability to drive and use a shared company vehicle is necessary.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Engage effectively with Residents, the Home Manager, and colleagues.
2. Perform general painting and decorating tasks, including making good damage prior to decoration, wallpapering, and painting walls, ceilings, fixtures, and fittings.
3. Follow health and safety policies, promote safe working practices, and ensure equipment is clean and well-maintained.
4. Complete mandatory and role-specific training to maintain professional knowledge and competence.
5. Recognize signs of abuse, harm, or neglect, and know how to respond and escalate concerns appropriately.
