Resident Engineer – Bradford ¦ Wates Property Services (WPS)

Wates Property Services is looking for a skilled and motivated Resident Engineer to join our team on-site at Yorkshire Building Society in Bradford. This is a fantastic opportunity to play a key role in delivering high-quality hard FM services in a customer-focused environment.
As a Resident Engineer, you’ll be the go-to expert for all things technical—ensuring the smooth operation of building systems, responding to reactive maintenance needs, and supporting planned preventative maintenance (PPM) schedules. You’ll work closely with our client and wider WPS team to uphold safety, compliance, and service excellence every day.
What You’ll Be Doing:
* Carrying out hands-on maintenance and repairs across electrical, mechanical, and fabric systems.
* Supporting compliance and health & safety standards across the site.
* Responding to reactive issues promptly and professionally.
* Assisting with PPM tasks and ensuring accurate documentation.
* Collaborating with site teams and contractors to deliver seamless service.
* Identifying opportunities for energy efficiency and sustainability improvements.
What We’re Looking For:
* A strong technical background in a relevant trade (Electrical, Mechanical, Gas or F-Gas).
* Experience in facilities maintenance within a commercial or customer-facing environment.
* Good working knowledge of health & safety legislation.
* Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
* IOSH/NEBOSH and BIFM qualifications are a plus.
