Overview
Beaufort Care Group is recruiting for a Part-time Residential Childcare Support Worker in West End, Southampton. The role supports looked-after children and forms part of a team in a new children’s home.
Role details
* Location: West End, Southampton
* Hours: 16 hours per week, with overtime and training
* Shifts: usually two per week, afternoons and evenings; 15:00–23:00 (Mon-Fri) or 12:00–22:00 (weekends). Mornings are not required.
* Salary: £24,960 per annum pro rata (actual based on contracted hours £10,790 p.a.), plus overtime
* Roster: 3-week rolling including weekends and Bank Holidays
Responsibilities
* Safeguard children and build strong, positive relationships
* Support educational and emotional development
* Plan and coordinate engaging activities
* Provide a structured, safe home environment
* Follow regulatory processes including care planning and daily records
About you
* Dedicated to child safeguarding
* Empathetic, effective communicator; able to form trusted relationships
* Passionate about children’s welfare
* Resilient and patient; able to handle challenging behaviours
* Proactive and creative in activity planning
* Practical life skills (cooking, cleaning, home management)
* Detail-oriented; competent IT use for documentation
* Essential: valid UK driving licence; proximity to West End; willingness to pursue NVQ Level 4 or equivalent
