Senior Construction Manager - Leiston, IP16, UK
Join the Sizewell C Project, a groundbreaking nuclear power plant initiative in Suffolk, UK, playing a vital role in the UK's clean energy future. This is a full-time, permanent position based at Sizewell C, Leiston, Suffolk, requiring onsite presence five days a week, with some weekends.

Role Summary: As a Senior Construction Manager, you will assist the Construction Lead and collaborate with the Area Delivery Leadership team to oversee the construction, commissioning, and handover of off-site infrastructure. You will manage and support a team of Construction Delivery Managers, ensuring site activities are effectively directed and monitored, including logistics, planning, and compliance with regulatory obligations.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Lead and support a team of Construction Delivery Managers.
2. Oversee daily site activities, including logistics, planning, and implementation.
3. Ensure compliance with safety standards and regulatory obligations.
4. Drive timely delivery of contract packages within budget and specifications.
5. Interface with stakeholders, local communities, and regulatory bodies.
6. Monitor progress, manage risks, and resolve issues proactively.
7. Align activities with the Programme Execution Plan and project schedule.
8. Ensure delivery of scope of work and adherence to project principles and procedures.
Candidate Profile:
* Proven experience in complex, regulated environments.
* Strong leadership in engineering design, procurement, and construction management.
* Team player, self-motivated, proactive.
* Proficiency in project controls, earned value management, and risk tools.
* Excellent planning and organizational skills, capable of managing multiple work streams.
* Decisive with sound judgment in complex situations.
* Experience with NEC contracts and stakeholder engagement.
* Degree and chartered status in engineering or construction.
* Deep knowledge of CDM Regulations and project lifecycle management.
Additional Responsibilities:
* Define and manage work scopes and interfaces.
* Lead planning, coordination, and execution of construction activities.
* Maintain effective communication with stakeholders.
* Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
* Manage contractor performance, payments, and deliverables.
* Promote knowledge sharing and continuous improvement.
