At Serco, we are proud to work on behalf of the Home Office to manage the Asylum Accommodation and Support Services Contract (AASC). Our mission is to support vulnerable asylum seekers by providing safe, high-quality accommodation and essential services as they navigate the asylum process.
What You’ll Be Doing
* Conducting monthly property inspections to ensure compliance with AASC standards.
* Managing on-boarding and withdrawal of properties in line with local operating procedures.
* Identifying and reporting property faults, ensuring they are categorised correctly for appropriate action.
* Performing minor property repairs, using the tools and training provided.
* Handling operational cash administration, such as topping up utility meters and processing emergency payments.
* Responding to and resolving customer complaints in a professional manner.
What We’re Looking For
* Strong people skills and property experience are valued; experience in face-to-face roles and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment are desirable.
* Experience with vulnerable people is welcome even if not in a Housing Officer role.
* Strong communication skills and the ability to handle challenging situations such as anti-social behaviour, safeguarding concerns, and medical needs.
* Counter Terrorism Check (CTC) security clearance and a Criminal Record Bureau (CRB) check may be required (subject to Home Office approval).
* Full, clean driving license is required.
