We are looking for a Learning Support Practitioner to work with teachers to support teaching and learning, providing general and specific assistance to pupils and staff under the direction, guidance and direct supervision of the classroom teacher. For the rest of this academic year the role will be in Year 5/6 with the potential to be any key stage for the following academic year.
Responsibilities
* Implement planned learning activities/teacher programmes as agreed with the teacher, adjusting activities according to pupils’ responses as appropriate
* Supervise and provide particular support for pupils, including those with special needs, ensuring their safety and access to learning activities
* Support pupils in social and emotional well-being, reporting problems to the teacher as appropriate
* Assist with the implementation of Individual Education/Behaviour plans and Personal Care programs under the supervision and guidance of teaching staff
* Establish constructive relationships with pupils and interact with them according to individual needs
Qualifications and Skills
* GCSE Maths and English minimum grade 4 or equivalent
* TA3 qualification or equivalent or relevant experience
* Relevant experience supervising children in a school setting
* Experience of working with children who have a wide variety of educational needs

The ability to converse at ease with members of the public and provide advice in accurate spoken English is essential for the post.

Grade: Band D, SCP 9-17, £27,254 - £31,022 (- £21,361 - £24,943 actual pro-rata salary) p.a.
