Deputy Headteacher – Aurora Peartree
Location: Great Malvern, Worcestershire
Contract Type: Full-time, Permanent
Hours: 40 hours per week
Salary: £67,898 - £75,049 (L12 – L16)

Aurora Peartree is opening its doors in Autumn 2026, and we're looking for an experienced Deputy Headteacher to help make this vision a reality. This is a rare opportunity to be part of something truly transformative.
Aurora Peartree will be a nurturing, inclusive and ambitious school for children and young people aged 5–19 with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. With a capacity of 120 students, our vision is to create a safe, enriching and aspirational environment where every learner can thrive.
The role:
As Deputy Headteacher, you'll work closely with the Headteacher and Senior Leadership Team to lead and manage all aspects of teaching and learning. You'll take responsibility for driving high-quality teaching, improving standards of learning, and supporting staff to deliver an engaging curriculum that meets the needs of all learners.
Your responsibilities will include:
* Deputise for the Headteacher and assume overall school leadership when required.
* Lead strategic oversight of educational provision, including curriculum planning, pupil assessment, attainment, progress, and employability initiatives (careers, work experience, examinations).
* Ensure effective staff deployment and organisational responsibilities.
* Manage and delegate staff appraisals.
* Support and communicate the school's vision and aims.
* Share responsibility for quality assurance across all school activities.
* Provide the Head Teacher with evidence-based updates on major school issues.
* Contribute to overall leadership and management with designated responsibilities.
* Maintain agreed teaching duties.
This is a leadership role where you'll influence the culture and success of our school from day one.

Essential Qualifications
* Qualified teacher status.
Essential Experience
* Proven track record of excellent creative and structured teaching within the special needs environment.
* Experience of teaching in a specialist SEMH Environment.
* Evidence of major whole school responsibilities and experience of turning policy into effective and successful practice.
* Experience of working with and developing links with the community
* Leadership of a significant area or phase or inclusion, including responsibility for raising standards across the whole school.
* Experience of working with and involving school governors/trustees or executives
