Spire Little Aston Hospital has an exciting opportunity for a Oncology Clinical Nurse Specialist to join their amazing team on a Bank.
Duties and responsibilities
* Management of direct patient care and responsibility for a clinical caseload, safely administering SACT.
* Work closely with site-specific Consultants, CNSs, and a multidisciplinary team.
* Maintain accurate and concise documentation of clinical activities.
* Collaborate with professionals and agencies inside and outside the hospital to meet patient needs and coordinate discharge arrangements.
* Provide professional support to colleagues within the cancer unit.
* Offer patients a Holistic Needs Assessment at relevant points in their pathway, develop a care plan and refer to Level 3 or Level 4 psychological care services when needed.
* Provide specialist, evidence‑based advice to deliver clinically effective care to cancer patients and their families.
* Promote respectful relationships through professional role modelling, explaining pre‑SACT consultation, and involving patients in their care.
Who were looking for
* Registered General Nurse with valid NMC registration.
* Extensive knowledge and senior‑level experience in cancer services.
* Competency in the UKONS 24‑Hour triage tool.
* Desirable post‑registration course within cancer care.
* Excellent communication and organisational skills, able to prioritise competing demands.
* Capable of working with minimal supervision.
* Computer literacy, including Microsoft Office, internet and email.
* Knowledge or qualification in palliative care.
