Ward: Maternity Ultrasound
Pay Rates: £27.01 per hour
The Role:
Royal Berkshire NHS Foundation Trust at Royal BerkshireHospital is seeking a passionate Band 7 Sonographer to bring their expertise to its well established andsupportive multi-disciplinary team. The successful candidate will function asan effective member of the Ultrasoundteam, providing a high quality, comprehensive and efficient Ultrasound serviceto patients and referring clinicians.
Main duties of the job
Independently undertakes general ultrasound sessions, providingcomprehensive and accurate computerised reports on all examinations.
Evaluates referrals with respect to appropriate clinical details andgathers relevant information from the patient or their representative. Usessuch information to develop or adapt the procedure to optimise the diagnosticoutcome.
Vets, validates and prioritises referrals prior to appointments beingscheduled; addresses patient queries regarding their appointment, either bytelephone or in person.
Identifies any contraindications to the procedure such as clinicalcondition, medication, insufficient patient preparation or any inability orunwillingness on the part of the patient to tolerate the procedure.
Is responsible for the clinical management and care of the patientensuring patient safety, privacy and dignity is always maintained. To includemovement or transfer on and off the ultrasound couch using safe handlingdevices (i.e. hoists) where necessary.

Person Specification
Experience
* At least 1 years NHS experience.
Qualifications
* HCPC Registration as a Sonographer.
* BSc Degree in Radiology or equivalent radiographic qualification.
* DMU / Post Graduate Diploma in Medical Ultrasound.
