About the role
The Home Improvement Agency (HIA) provides advice, assistance and support to older or disabled residents who wish to adapt their homes. As part of this new HIA team you will carry out full property surveys, explain options, produce detailed drawings and plans using CAD, and prepare detailed schedules of work. You will manage multiple projects, meet targets, and oversee contractor performance to ensure adaptations are completed to the required standard. Any additional work you identify must be completed by contractors before final payments can be made.
Responsibilities
* Carry out full property surveys and produce detailed drawings/plans (using CAD).
* Prepare detailed schedules of work and cost projections for DFG cases.
* Manage and monitor contractors to meet key performance indicators.
* Ensure adaptations are completed to the specified standard before final payments.
Essential Qualifications, Skills and Experience
* Experience with the Disabled Facilities Grant (DFG) process.
* Strong technical aptitude and understanding of building regulations.
* Experience working with clients who are vulnerable due to age, disability or mental health.
* Experience preparing reports including cost projections for DFG cases above the mandatory limit.
* Experience working with contractors to programme, negotiate and oversee works.
* Ability to manage complex cases from initial enquiry to completion.
