As a I&C Technician, UK ICS, you will become part of the nuclear industry's leading edge. You'll have the opportunity to use your skills and experience to the full, in an environment in which excellence is always paramount.
The Principal I&C Engineer will work as part of a multidisciplinary team, providing technical guidance and oversight for projects across the global nuclear industry. The role involves involvement from interpretation of customer requirements during tendering, through to concept development, detailed design, manufacturing support, testing, installation, obsolescence management, and plant life extension on a Nuclear Licensed site.
You will report to the Customer Solutions Manager UK ICS and be located at Gateshead.
* Responsible for electrical, control, and instrumentation aspects of major projects, covering a lifecycle from requirements capture, front-end and detailed design, implementation oversight, testing, and commissioning, including design substantiation systems.
* Preparing tenders/quotations to customer specifications, ensuring diligent costing to minimize financial risks.
* Generation of Front-End Engineering Design packages.
* Leading projects, including refurbishments of old aging designs and new designs, with a wide range of electrical, control, and instrumentation equipment (analogue and digital systems).
* Good knowledge of Power Electronics Circuit Design.
* Good knowledge of Analogue Control Schemes.
* Creating Ageing & Obsolescence technical review reports on existing systems.
* Electrical, Control, and Instrumentation Engineering expertise, Degree qualified or equivalent.
* A track record of working as an Electrical and/or Control & Instrumentation Engineer within the Nuclear Industry or other highly regulated industries.
* Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
* Experience in leading and developing teams.
* An understanding of factors contributing to business success.
* Competent user of recognized CAD software for drawings and schematic diagrams.
