Accountant
Location: Bembridge, Isle of Wight
Salary: Up to £60,000 depending on experience
We are seeking an Accountant to join a leading engineering and manufacturing organisation. This role will play a crucial part in financial control, cost management, and operational performance within a complex manufacturing environment. Key Responsibilities
* Prepare monthly management accounts, variance analysis, year-end reporting and support external audit activity, ensuring strong compliance with UK GAAP and internal controls.
* Maintain and improve standard costing models, analyse production variances, and oversee WIP and inventory valuation to ensure accuracy and insight for operational teams.
* Lead budgeting activity for manufacturing operations while producing rolling forecasts, cashflow projections, and financial insight for production planning.
* Partner closely with operations, engineering and supply chain teams to influence decision-making, support cost-reduction initiatives, and improve operational performance.
* Analyse programme profitability, pricing and BOM cost structures, providing clear financial guidance across multiple aircraft variants and long-term manufacturing projects.
* Drive improvements across financial processes and ERP utilisation, supporting system enhancements and promoting stronger data integrity and reporting capability.
Experience Required
* Fully qualified or part-qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA).
* Minimum 5 years' experience in cost accounting within a manufacturing environment.
* Strong understanding of standard costing, inventory management and project accounting.
* Confident working within ERP systems with advanced Excel skills.
* Excellent analytical ability and strong stakeholder engagement skills.
Qualifications
A recognised ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualification (fully or almost fully qualified).
