We have two exciting opportunities within our Distribution Service Delivery Team to become a Distribution Operative. Working in this role, you will be responsible for the operation and maintenance of Severn Trent\'s Underground Water network, the upkeep of our Clean Water Network and any required repairs of our Clean Water Main Assets. You will conduct excavation within public highways on Severn Trent sites and private lands. You will put the needs of our customers first, respond to and resolve issues raised by customers or members of the public. You will liaise with other departments and contract partners to manage stakeholder expectations. Every day is different, and you\'ll undertake the full range of duties involved in delivering an effective repair and maintenance service, including the repair and replacement of existing water mains & ancillary assets, and working on valves, washouts & meters. You will operate machinery on site and use up-to-date technology to assist our back office with data upkeep.
Within this role you will be part of a rolling 7 week shift pattern (24/7, 365). This is an outdoor role, working in all weathers.
Responsibilities

Requirements / Qualifications
* Full UK driving licence; willingness and ability to independently travel to depots/bases.
* Physically demanding role requiring good strength and stamina.
* Ability to apply rational thinking and technical expertise to resolve complex challenges.
* Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complicated technical messages clearly.
* Positive attitude with a strong customer focus; energy, empathy and commitment to delivering outstanding service in every interaction.

Salary and Benefits
* Salary: £30,125 + Shift Allowance (approximately £8,526 per annum once training is complete).
* 25 days holiday + bank holidays (ability to buy/sell up to 5 days per year).
