We are working in partnership with several inclusive and supportive schools across South Manchester to recruit a dedicated Learning Support Assistant (LSA). This is a highly rewarding role for someone with experience supporting children with complex physical and learning needs in an educational or care setting.
About the Role:
As a Learning Support Assistant, you will play a vital role in enabling pupils with complex needs to access education in a safe, nurturing environment. You'll work closely with teachers, SENCOs, and other support staff to provide tailored support to children, helping them thrive both academically and personally.
Key Responsibilities:
1. One-to-one and small group support for pupils with complex learning needs
2. Supporting children with physical disabilities in the classroom and around the school
3. Assisting with personal care needs, including toileting and hygiene
4. Supporting children with tube feeding and stoma bag management (training can be provided if needed)
5. Creating a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environment
6. Liaising with parents, carers, and external professionals where required
Essential Requirements:
7. Previous experience supporting children or young people with complex SEND
8. Comfortable with or willing to support personal care, tube feeding, and stoma management
9. A calm, patient, and empathetic nature
10. Ability to work effectively as part of a team
11. Valid DBS on the Update Service or willingness to apply for one
