About the role
As a Store Manager at Booker, you'll use your skills to help our business grow. It's an exciting opportunity to showcase your talent. A key part of your role will be to meet customers' needs by building rapport with local business owners, seeking them out, and listening to their needs. You'll support a diverse range of businesses, from cafes and pubs to retailers like corner shops and newsagents, helping them thrive.
Booker is not an ordinary retailer. Our stores, or Business Centres, primarily serve local B2C customers, positively impacting their communities. We offer more than just products at the right price; we build strong customer relationships, such as recycling fat for fish and chip shops or supporting new businesses.
Main Responsibilities
As Store Manager, your passion will inspire your team to perform their best, while you support managers, drive sales, and take responsibility for store operations. You may have retail experience, or have run a restaurant or pub. Whatever your background, you'll be commercially-minded and dedicated to offering the best choice, price, and service. Your first priority will be ensuring the store is health, safe, and legal, meeting all regulations. With these essentials in place, you'll use your expertise to enhance customer satisfaction, believing that total customer focus is key to growing profits. By doing so, you'll help your store—and your career—thrive.
You will need
You should have experience in the food sector and the ability to build rapport with customers. You must be a great manager capable of developing teams. Driven, disciplined, with an eye for detail, you'll be comfortable multitasking on the shop floor and managing broader business aspects, including online and delivery services. Most importantly, you'll be passionate about your store and committed to its success.
