Overview
Join to apply for the Production Operator (Expediter) role at Universal Wolf.
Our Expediters are responsible for the movement of materials around Production areas to help minimise downtime and keep Production going. This improves efficiency by allowing our colleagues to concentrate on producing their part of the process. Our Expeditors are a critical part of our business.
About Universal Wolf
We are leaders in complex metal fabrication and our business is growing. We work within a broad range of customer types and make a wide variety of products. Our colleagues tell us this is why they love working at Universal Wolf: no two days are the same, the work is interesting and different. We are a pack where passion, persistence and people matter. Where talent, trust and teams thrive. Because for us it’s more than work. It’s who we are. The key to the success of our team is that colleagues share common values. For us it\'s not just a job, it\'s who we are. We live the company values of a “Better” “Smarter” “Pack”.
We want people to join our team who really want to be part of our continued growth, so we are recruiting for an Expeditor to join our team. Our sites are in an easily accessible location just off Cowpen Road in Blyth, Northumberland.
What You’ll Do
* To ensure that production targets are met you’ll be moving materials and part finished product through the shopfloor, supporting other colleagues to minimise downtime.
* You’ll be doing what you can to ensure that production avoid problems and that machines and metal workers are constantly fed with product.
* Set up full kits of parts from engineering drawings, ensuring all parts are present for the build stage.
* Working from daily plans you’ll move a variety of product around, using pallet trucks and forklifts.
* Moving or supporting loads by hand will include lifting, putting down, pushing, pulling, carrying or moving product and materials.
* You’ll be looking for ways to improve the expediting processes.
We’d Love You To Have
* Values that we share across the business that drive you to do the best work that you can as effectively as you can working within a team.
* Experience within a manufacturing environment would be great but it’s not essential; we can teach you how to do the job.
* The ability to understand customer drawings would be great but again we can train you.
* Basic computer literacy to a standard that allows use of business tools.
In Return You’ll Get
To work as part of a growing team where your contribution is valuable, we have a Grow our Own Program called “Career Pathways” where you will be able to learn and grow as you develop in the role. We are looking for and developing our future leaders.
