Role Overview - Marketing Assistant at Learning People
Location: Brighton & Hove, in-office (Option to work one day from home per week)
Working hours: 9am-5:30pm, Monday - Friday
Experience: At least 1 year in content marketing roles
Salary: £25,000 p/a
We are looking for a highly organised, detail-oriented Marketing Assistant to join our team. Your mission is to own the essential "in-the-weeds" tasks that keep our marketing engine running.
This is an execution-heavy role with success measured in timely delivery and completion of tasks. By taking ownership of our webinar coordination, web content maintenance, email creation, course listing updates, and daily communications, you will directly enable our senior team to focus on high-level strategy and content production. If you have aspirations to work in marketing, love a clean inbox, are motivated by ticking off a high-volume to-do list, and enjoy small creative tasks such as short blog-post writing, you will be a good fit.
Key Areas of Responsibility
These are some essential areas where our team needs support from our Marketing Assistant. You won't necessarily be required to work on all of these things every week, and the nature of the role means that ad hoc tasks will need to be completed on request.
1. Website & Content Maintenance
Help us maintain a high-trust, high-performance web presence through manual updates.
* Site Tweaks: Execute mass page updates (e.g. updating banners, removing outdated widgets/information, rolling out CTA text that has won in A/B testing, and ensuring consistent terminology across the site).
* Content Freshness: Assist in rolling out content updates to improve SEO "freshness" and user trust.
* Partner Course Listings: Manage and update course listings on our partner sites to test and boost performance, based on guidance from our Sales Enablement executive.
2. New Content Ideation and Creation
* Blog writing: Writing short, punchy blog posts about sector-relevant reports, statistics, news events. Attending a weekly content “standup” to agree on topic coverage and angles with the wider team.
* Content trend analysis: Using Google Trends to identify currently trending topics relevant to our brand's content pillars; bringing suggestions for tapping into these trends to the weekly content “standup”
3. Email Creation and (Mass) Updates
* Working with our Sales Enablement Executive to support the rollout of our quarterly sales email campaigns, requiring you to update the images and copy across 100+ email assets
* Creating emails for external comms with our prospect and student/alumni database, based on ad-hoc requests
4. Community & Inbox Management
* Act as the first point of contact for our social media channels and marketing inboxes, ensuring timely and professional responses to all inquiries.
5. Webinar & Event Coordination
You will play an operational role in organising our thought-leader webinars (community engagement) and sales Q&A sessions (fresh lead and enrollments).
* Logistics: Manage guest coordination and calendar scheduling.
* Promotion: Execute email invite workflows to maximise registration and attendance.
* Reporting: Collate data from Zoom and other platforms to provide actionable reports for the sales floor.
* Follow-up: Ensure all recording emails and post-session communications are sent promptly.
Who You Are
* Efficient & Task-Oriented: You find satisfaction in executing a plan and hitting deadlines. You don't need a high-level strategy to get started, you just need a list and a goal.
* Detail-Obsessed: You'll be making changes across our website and email systems; you're the type of person who double-checks every link and spell-checks every header.
* Tech-Savvy: Comfortable (or quick to learn) navigating CMS platforms, Zoom, and Email Service Providers (ESPs).
* Personable: You're enthusiastic and professional when collaborating with others, both internally (working cross-team) and externally (when speaking with webinar guests and our partners)
* Reliable Communicator: You can manage expectations, report on your progress, and flag roadblocks before they become problems.
* Motivated by Marketing: You are keen and ambitious when it comes to progressing your career in marketing.
Requirements
* At least one year of prior experience in a marketing team, including as a volunteer, intern, or part-time worker.
* Strong written communication skills, for email and social media responses, but also for content creation in our brand tone of voice.
* Ability to take initiative and work autonomously.
* A good eye for visual design and experience with Zoom, CMS systems, email builders, and CRM platforms would be a significant plus.
Why this role? You will be an integral part of a lean, high-performing team. Your work will have an immediate, visible impact on our organic performance and lead generation. This is a great opportunity to see the "inner workings" of a successful marketing strategy while gaining hands-on experience across multiple digital channels.
