About the Role:
This LSA role is ideal for those with a genuine passion for inclusive education. You’ll be providing tailored classroom support, both academically and emotionally, to pupils with diverse needs. You may also be referred to as a SEN Teaching Assistant, as the role involves working closely with pupils with special educational needs, helping them engage with learning and build confidence in a mainstream primary setting.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide learning and behavioural support to identified pupils
* Work under the direction of the class teacher and SENCO to deliver individual support plans
* Assist in the preparation of learning materials and classroom organisation
* Support pupils with social and emotional development
* Encourage pupil participation and independence
* Monitor progress and maintain records as directed
Job Requirements:
* Previous experience as a Learning Support Assistant or SEN Teaching Assistant is highly desirable
* A patient, calm, and empathetic approach to supporting pupils
* Strong communication and teamwork skills
* A passion for working with children with additional needs
* Have an updated CV and an enhanced DBS registered to the update service (or be willing to apply for one)
