Mechanical Maintenance Engineer
Location: Tamworth, Staffordshire
Salary: Initially cGBP33k neg dep exp + benefits, including generous salary reviews after training (to GBP36,500)
Our Tamworth-based client, an internationally recognized household name in leisure and entertainment established for nearly 70 years, is seeking an experienced Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to join their team due to ongoing growth.
Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, the successful candidate will perform planned preventative and reactive maintenance on rides to ensure safety, full operation, and optimal performance.
Core Responsibilities:
1. Maintain high standards of workmanship and presentation of rides.
2. Carry out PPM and reactive maintenance, supporting ride reliability and working closely with Operations to implement improvements.
3. Conduct checks (daily, weekly, monthly) to ensure rides meet safety and manufacturer standards, and understand maintenance requirements from ride manuals.
4. Collaborate with the Team Manager to source parts, ensure value for money, and manage stock levels to minimize downtime.
5. Maintain workshops and related areas, ensuring tools and equipment are inspected and records are kept, with timely remedial actions.
6. Monitor and audit work standards, address non-conformities, and promote best practices.
7. Improve communication within the team and report safety-critical issues immediately.
8. Ensure PPE is used correctly and lock-off procedures are followed.
9. Support and undertake training as required, and utilize the Ride Maintenance management system (Mobaro) for reporting and trend analysis.
Qualifications and experience required:
* NVQ Level 3 or above in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
* Good fault diagnosis and repair skills.
* Training in Working at Heights, First Aid, H&S, and MEWP/telehandler is advantageous.
* Experience with maintenance systems, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work independently and in a team.
