Who we\'re looking for
We are seeking an organised and proactive Accounts Assistant to join our finance team in a fast-paced and dynamic company. In this role, you will play a crucial part in ensuring the accuracy of financial transactions, supporting day-to-day accounting functions, and contributing to the smooth operation of our finance department. You will be working closely with other team members to ensure that all financial processes are correctly maintained.
Main Duties
* Process and reconcile sales invoices
* Customer self-bill and POD reconciliation
* Assist in credit control and follow up on outstanding debts
* Dealing with customer queries related to the sales ledger, both via telephone and email
* Dealing with queries from the credit control team and other internal stakeholders
* Issuing copy invoices
* Posting customer receipts
* Reconciling the bank account
* Investigating and resolving unallocated cash receipts
* Customer self-bill reconciliation and POD
* Production of daily and ad-hoc reports
* Review and code Purchase invoices to the correct nominal accounts, cost centres and departments, and address supplier queries
* Prepare payment runs
* Process credit card transactions and expense claims
* Support the month-end and year-end closing processes
Skills & Attributes
* Proven experience in Sales Ledger and Credit Control
* Experience in an accounts or finance assistant role
* Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software (Sage 200 & Xero)
* Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills
* Experience in an accounts or finance assistant role (2 years minimum)
