A client within the Public Sector based in West Yorkshire is currently recruiting for a Biodiversity Officer to join their Biodiversity Team (Planning, Transportation and Highways – Place Directorate) as soon as possible. The client is offering a full-time, temporary position on an ongoing basis, with the ideal candidate having experience of working within a local authority planning and biodiversity environment.\n \nThe Role \nKey purpose of the role:\n\nSupport the implementation of the Council’s Biodiversity Duty under the Natural Environment and Rural Communities Act 2006.\nProvide specialist ecological advice and technical support to development management, development planning and other Council services.\nWork with external agencies and partners to monitor, manage and promote biodiversity across the district.Key responsibilities will include but not be limited to:\nProviding ecological consultation responses on planning applications, including major developments.\nAdvising on Biodiversity Net Gain, Habitat Regulations Assessment, Strategic Environmental Assessment and Sustainability Appraisal.\nAssessing ecological surveys and reports and recommending appropriate planning conditions.\nContributing to the designation and management of Local Wildlife Sites and Local Nature Reser...
