Salary: £40,000 to £50,000 per annum.
Role & Responsibilities
* Conduct consistent review of outstanding purchase orders to ensure production and customer demand is maintained.
* Ensure all production requirements are met and customer delivery achieved OTIF.
* Review vendor performance and manage relationships to achieve maximum stock turn and quality accuracy.
* Liaise with internal staff to manage min/max settings and vendors.
* Ensure stock condition and layout is maximised for quality pick/pack and delivery.
* Liaise with other engineers to develop and implement systems and processes that improve overall production operations – utilising LEAN practices.
* Maintain zero lost time status and ensure working practices are followed within the area and team.
* Train, mentor, and supervise staff to ensure adherence to standard operating procedures and maximum output efficiency.
* Set department objectives & KPIs and review and assess ongoing performance of direct reports.
* Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide feedback to team members.
Knowledge, Skills & Experience
* Ability to provide and deliver process control to situations.
* Hands‑on, foot‑forward thinker with genuine desire to grow the role and department.
* Strong knowledge of LEAN manufacturing processes and quality control principles.
* Proven track record of implementing continuous improvement initiatives to drive operational efficiencies.
* Excellent leadership skills with the ability to lead, motivate and inspire a team.
* Strong engineering knowledge and understanding – with a hands‑on approach.
* Proficient in analysis of data, identifying trends, and making data‑driven decisions.
* Courage to challenge and speak up when faced with resistance.
