This is a busy position on an adult Trauma ward that cares for patients pre- and post-operatively following surgery for a wide range of injuries. The ward clerk role is pivotal in ensuring the smooth running of the ward.
This is an exciting time to join UHD. We are a three-site acute trust with 'university hospital' status, due to our partnership with Bournemouth University, delivering highly regarded health services to Dorset and beyond. We employ approximately 10,000 staff and are investing in a £250m estates programme to deliver state-of-the-art facilities to meet current and future healthcare needs.
Base Location: Poole
Interview Date: TBC
Responsibilities include welcoming patients and visitors, answering questions, providing information sensitively, and referring to qualified team members as needed. The role also involves undertaking clerical and administrative duties, liaising with team members and other departments to ensure effective ward operations.
Our values define who we are as #TeamUHD, underpinning our interactions with patients, visitors, and colleagues. UHD is investing in services across the Trust, with many being transformed following the merger and the New Hospital Programme.
Some services may move sites this year or next, either temporarily or long-term. Managers will be happy to answer questions about this at interview.
There is a planned relocation of this service during Winter 202x5 to the Bournemouth site. Post-relocation, mileage allowances will not apply, and travel will be considered commuting. Other changes will be handled according to Trust and national policies.
