We are looking for an experienced File Handler to join our drying and restoration team. This is a key role within the business, responsible for managing insurance claims from instruction through to completion.
You will handle a portfolio of property damage claims, ensuring works are progressed efficiently, clients are kept informed, and service level agreements are met. The ideal candidate will already have experience within restoration, insurance claims, or property damage environments.
Key Responsibilities
* Manage a caseload of drying and restoration claims from start to finish
* Review new instructions and ensure all required information is obtained promptly
* Liaise with insurers, loss adjusters, contractors, policyholders, and suppliers
* Coordinate surveys, drying works, strip out, reinstatement, and specialist services
* Monitor claim progress to ensure compliance with SLAs and KPIs
* Prepare and issue reports, updates, and documentation in line with insurer requirements
* Review scopes of work, estimates, and invoices for accuracy
* Maintain accurate and up to date records on internal systems
* Identify delays or issues early and take proactive steps to resolve them
* Provide a high standard of customer service throughout the lifecycle of each claim
Experience & Skills Required
* Proven experience handling property damage claims within drying and restoration
* Strong understanding of the insurance claims process
* Confident liaising with insurers and loss adjusters
* Ability to manage multiple claims at different stages
* Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
* Strong written and verbal communication skills
* Commercial awareness and cost control understanding
* Experience using claims management systems i.e. Xact, Corelogic
Salary
Starting £27,000 - £28,000 dependant on experience
Working Hours
Monday-Friday 08:30AM-5:00PM
