Registered Nurse Operating Room (Contingent) Days-Plymouth

Plymouth Medical Center has 2 Operating Rooms and supports multiple outpatient surgery specialties including Orthopedics, Urology, Plastics, and ENT. There is shelled out space for future surgical expansion. There are 14 Pre-Post Recovery spaces with the availability to support extended recovery and a full-service sterile reprocessing department.
Henry Ford Medical Center in Plymouth features a state-of-the-art Ambulatory Surgery Center with two operating rooms. We provide advanced technology and well-equipped facilities to support orthopedic, sports medicine, urology, ear nose and throat, neurosurgery, and plastic surgery. Private rooms and a comfortable waiting area are offered. Same-day medication refills are available at our on-site pharmacy. POSITION SUMMARY: This posting represents the major duties, responsibilities, and authorities of this job, and is not intended to be a complete list of all tasks and duties. Employees may be asked to perform duties beyond those described above.
Provides leadership in the coordination and delivery of quality compassionate patient care. Utilizes the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation to provide, delegate, supervise, and document care and teaching of patients and family. Effectively communicates with the health care team. Demonstrates clinical competence. May require a professional certification which is a regulatory requirement in the State of Michigan or a documented community standard for the position, works independently and in collaboration with principal investigator.
Hours: 6:30AM-3PM Monday- Friday with no weekend, holiday or call requirement.
Location: Plymouth
Orientation will be full time hours your first week (split as remote and in person)
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
* Graduate from an accredited school of nursing
* Minimum of One year of OR experience is required
* Experience with Orthopedic, Urology, ENT, and Plastics surgeries is preferred
* Experience with EPIC OpTime is preferred
* Base Bachelor's Degree preferred
* Current licensure by the Michigan State Board of Nursing as a Registered Nurse
* Successful completion of HFMG Pharmacology test
* Maintains and demonstrates current clinical knowledge in area of specialty
* Clinical knowledge and analytical abilities necessary to formulate effective nursing care plans
* Ability to perform a wide variety of professional nursing services
* Ability to effectively communicate with patients, families, and medical group personnel
* Preferred experience in the specialty
* Basic computer knowledge and keyboarding skills
CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURES REQUIRED:
* Current licensure by the Michigan State Board of Nursing as a Registered Nurse
* Current BLS or ACLS per HFHS policy
