Position: Nursery Chef\n\nSalary: Up to £28,000pa + excellent further training and career progression opportunities\n\nHours: 40 hours, Mon – Fri, no weekends or evenings\n\nAs a nursery chef, you'll prepare and cook nutritional and balanced meals and desserts for all the children in the nursery and make substitutions depending on each individual's dietary requirements.\n\nYou're the best at …\n\n * Preparing well-balanced and nutritious meals in accordance with agreed menu plans for all the children.\n\n * Using fresh ingredients\n\n * Training the Kitchen Assistants in all areas, particularly in health & safety and hygiene\n\n * Undertaking daily cleaning schedule, such as mopping, sweeping, wiping surfaces, and cleaning cookers, kitchen equipment, crockery and cutlery\n\n * Keeping paperwork and records up to date to be used for future reference for the safety of everyone consuming food\n\n * Taking stock of all dry and frozen foods before an order and communicating this with the manager\n\n * Monitoring wastage at all nurseries and changing the menu accordingly if a meal is unpopular\n\nYou will need…\n\n * How to cater for children's dietary requirements by following up-to-date legislation regarding nutrition and through your knowledge of catering for children\n\n * A NVQ or BTEC Cooking Qualification would be desirable from Uk or Overseas.\n\n * The requirements for receiving the highest rating from the local council's Environmental Health Department to maintain the high standards already in the setting\n\n * How to implement all relevant policies and procedures\n\n * Additional certificates and training in Food Hygiene certificate would be desirable and Allergen Training.\n\nTo apply and organise a interview please send CV to link provided.\n\nChef
