Group Tax Manager

As our business looks to deliver its ambitious strategy of growth, we are looking for a Group Tax Manager to join our team at Cowick on a temporary, fixed-term contract for 15 months, offering a hands-on opportunity to play a key role in the delivery of core Group tax activities during a defined period of change.
You will be responsible for delivering a robust operational tax governance framework through the effective management of policies, processes, and controls, with a practical and delivery-focused approach across key Group tax areas. You will combine strong technical expertise with a practical, solutions-focused mindset to ensure accurate tax outcomes and compliance with Group requirements. Working closely with the UK Tax Manager, wider finance teams, and external advisors, you will support the delivery of the Group Tax Strategy while ensuring value for money.

8. Skilled in translating complex tax concepts into clear, accessible language for non-specialists, with strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
What You’ll Be Doing:

9. Execute key elements of the Group Tax Strategy, including the coordination of tax incentives, claims, and structural initiatives with advisor support.
10. Support the Group Tax Director in maintaining and enhancing tax controls and governance frameworks, embedding continuous improvement in tax policies and processes.
11. Monitor domestic and international tax legislation and reporting developments, assessing impacts on tax rate, cash tax, and disclosures, and escalating risks and implementation considerations.
12. Oversee transfer pricing compliance for intra-group services, including calculations, documentation, and coordination with advisors.
13. Lead Pillar 2 compliance activities, including country-by-country reporting, data collection, calculations, filings, and top-up taxes, working closely with advisors and internal finance teams.
14. Manage the Group’s tax provisioning process, including preparation, review, and financial statement disclosures, and liaise with external auditors.
15. Deliver multi-jurisdictional tax projects and workstreams, ensuring compliance, providing technical support, and managing tax authority interactions.
16. Drive improvements in tax processes and reporting, including tax payments, forecasting, and budgeting, while supporting finance stakeholders with practical tax input.
17. Provide oversight of VAT compliance and support payroll and HR teams on employment tax matters.
18. Support the implementation and optimisation of tax technology solutions from both operational and compliance perspectives.
This role offers exposure to complex international tax matters, senior stakeholders, and Group-wide projects within a FTSE 100 environment and is well suited to an experienced tax professional seeking a hands-on Group role with real responsibility and impact over a defined period.
