Salary: £30,000 - 60,000 per year Requirements:
* We require a candidate with over 5 years of experience in SQL development using enterprise-grade relational databases, specifically SQL Server. You should have at least 4 years of experience developing with Power BI and possess a strong portfolio of dashboards. A deep understanding of hierarchical data patterns, including adjacency lists, nested sets, and recursive Common Table Expressions (CTEs) is essential. Additionally, you must demonstrate strong proficiency in DAX, M-Query, and Power Query, along with a solid grasp of indexing, query optimization, and performance tuning. Experience with stored procedures, complex joins, and relational database design is also necessary. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills are a must.
Responsibilities:
* In this role, you will design and implement efficient SQL queries and database structures to support complex business processes and hierarchical data relationships. You'll develop recursive queries and CTEs for data manipulation, optimize stored procedures, and troubleshoot performance issues utilizing execution plans and query tuning techniques. Collaboration with developers and analysts will be key as you translate business requirements into effective database logic while enforcing data governance, integrity, and consistency across systems.
* You will design and maintain advanced interactive Power BI dashboards and reports, build robust data models using DAX, and manage ETL processes from various data sources, including SQL Server, Excel, and cloud platforms. Gathering and translating complex business requirements into technical specifications will be a critical part of your job. Additionally, promoting best practices in data governance and maintaining documentation for report logic and dashboard functionality will be expected. You will also optimize Power BI solutions for performance and scalability.
* Furthermore, you will support re-platforming initiatives with data-driven insights, mentor junior analysts, and contribute to a culture of continuous learning while identifying opportunities for new data solutions and assisting in the development of our analytics roadmap.
