Advanced Paramedic Practitioner

The Advanced Paramedic Practitioner role at Farnham Integrated Care Services (FICS), Farnham Centre for Health, requires a registered Paramedic with postgraduate qualifications, including Independent and Supplementary Prescriber qualification and HCPC registration, acting within professional boundaries.
This is an in‑person role. Candidates must be able to commute reliably or plan to relocate to Farnham before starting work.
Main duties
- Provide first point of contact for patients presenting with undifferentiated problems, using history taking, physical examination, problem‑solving and clinical decision‑making to establish diagnosis and management plan.
- Assess, treat and diagnose patients of all age ranges at the Same Day Service.
- Make professionally accountable autonomous decisions.
- Refer patients to alternative care settings or treat and discharge as appropriate.
- Instigate necessary invasive and non‑invasive diagnostic tests, interpret findings/reports.
- Generate prescriptions within scope of practice, considering local and national guidelines.
- Deliver specialist care in line with required qualifications, including advanced interventions and decision‑making for complex cases.
- Use prescriptive authority to enhance medication management, particularly for long‑term conditions with attention to QOF outcomes.
- Provide patient and family education on managing health conditions and preventative care.
Qualifications & Experience
- Masters degree level in relevant area of expertise or working at masters level, covering clinical practice, leadership and management, education and research.
- Registered with HCPC and as a paramedic.
- Evidence of experience working in General Practice, Urgent Treatment Centre, Out of Hours, Emergency Department, Minor Injuries Unit or other autonomous clinical setting.
- Advanced clinical assessment skills.
- Telephone triage assessment awareness.
- Management of minor injuries/illnesses and knowledge of long‑term (chronic) condition needs.
- Good clinical system IT knowledge including EMIS.
Person Specification
Experience as an Enhanced Nurse Practitioner, Advanced Paramedic Practitioner, or Advanced Nurse Practitioner may be considered.

Salary: £55,000 to £60,000 per year (FTE). 4–7 sessions per week.
