Training Officer – Lanarkshire
THE SCOTTISH ELECTRICAL CHARITABLE TRAINING TRUST (SECTT) manages the Scottish Joint Industry Board (SJIB) Electrical Contracting Apprenticeship and Adult Training Scheme throughout Scotland and is looking for a Training Officer in the Lanarkshire area.
Location and Travel Requirements
Ideally based in the Central Area with travel across the Central Belt.
Principal Duties of the Training Officer
* Carry out selection tests for all applicants.
* Manage recruitment within their area.
* Register and induct apprentices onto the SJIB training scheme.
* Monitor and assess the performance of apprentices during their training at college and at work.
* Liaise with employers and college staff on apprentices' performance through the online OneFile portfolio system.
* Assess the Off‑the‑Job training e‑Portfolio.
* Assist apprentices to identify where training gaps exist.
* Conduct information evenings for apprentices about their Final Integrated Competence Assessment.
Applicant Requirements
* Completed an electrical apprenticeship and possess the relevant industry‑based qualification.
* Five years post‑apprenticeship experience.
* Occupational Health and Safety qualification (preferred).
* Current assessor qualification or willingness to obtain.
* High level of computer literacy for the reporting nature of the SVQ.
Remuneration and Benefits
Starting salary of approximately £46,000 and a generous package including a company car.
