Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Welder/Fabricator to join our manufacturing team. The successful candidate will be responsible for fabricating and welding metal components, primarily using MMG welding techniques, to produce high-quality products in accordance with technical specifications. The pay rate for this position will be dependent on the individual's experience.
Responsibilities
* Perform MIG welding on various metals, including sheet metal, ensuring precision and adherence to safety standards
* Fabricate components by cutting, shaping, and assembling materials using hand tools, power tools, and fabrication equipment
* Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications to guide fabrication processes
* Use welding techniques specific to Seagull Engineering welding standards to ensure structural integrity of completed work
* Operate hand tools and power tools efficiently for cutting, grinding, and finishing metal parts
* Conduct quality inspections of welds and fabricated components to meet company standards
* Assist in the assembly of fabricated parts into final products or structures
* Maintain a clean and organised work environment, adhering to health and safety regulations
Requirements
* Proven experience in MIG welding, with a strong understanding of Seagull Engineering welding standards
* Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, and fabrication equipment such as shears, presses, and grinders
* Mechanical knowledge with the ability to interpret technical drawings and blueprints effectively
* Familiarity with sheet metal work and assembly processes
* Basic math skills for measurements and calculations related to fabrication tasks
* Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
* Strong attention to detail with a focus on quality workmanship
* Previous experience with welding or fabrication in an industrial setting is highly desirable
