If so, we’d love to hear from you as we are looking for 2 Painter Decorators to join our busy Void (Empty Property) and Contracts teams. Southampton is a growing, dynamic city with big ambitions for the future — and we’re looking for skilled people to help us deliver a high quality housing service for our residents. About the Role: As part of our busy Voids (Empty Property) Team, you will carry out painting, decorating and associated repairs across more than 16,500 council owned homes, including around 1,000 void properties each year. You’ll deliver a wide range of tasks including: All aspects of internal & external painting and decorating Fire safety works Painting and repairs in communal areas Tiling, patch plastering, artexing (desirable but not essential) Small multi trade tasks to support first time fix wherever possible You will also liaise daily with residents, colleagues, contractors and suppliers, so a customer focused approach is essential. About You: We’re looking for someone who is: A qualified Painter & Decorator (Level 3 apprenticeship or equivalent) with at least 3 years’ experience in domestic or commercial maintenance Confident working across multiple trades (tiling, minor plumbing, carpentry, patch plastering, etc.) Highly organised with strong time management skills Calm under pressure, even when dealing with challenging situations IT confident (mobile working, job tickets, email etc.) A strong communicator with excellent customer service skills You must have: A full clean UK driving licence The ability to work at height and lift/carry materials A high standard of workmanship and attention to detail The ability to follow Health & Safety procedures Willingness to undergo an Enhanced DBS check Why Join Us?
