We are currently recruiting for a full-time Porter. This hands-on position is responsible for, but not limited to, the setup and pack-down of rooms in coordination with the bookings team, locker management, and escorting contractors and subcontractors around site and cleaning and clearing of external areas.
The role requires a proactive approach to health and safety, including conducting regular site walk rounds to identify and report hazards, building issues, or furniture/fabric concerns to the line manager or help desk. These reports help ensure timely resolution through the appropriate regional supply chain partners.
Collaboration is key, as the porter will work closely with various internal teams and external supply chain partners to maintain a safe, functional, and welcoming environment. Flexibility is essential, with the ability to respond to ad hoc work orders and shifting priorities throughout the day.
Strong customer service skills are required, both in person and over the phone, with a professional and patient manner. While conflict resolution is not a core responsibility, the ability to remain calm and escalate appropriately is important.
The role will report to the Soft Services Manager and is ideal for someone who enjoys a varied and active workday, takes pride in maintaining high standards, and thrives in a collaborative, service-focused environment.

Regular on-site walk rounds are expected to identify any hazards or issues related to the building, furniture, or general environment, with all findings reported promptly to the line manager or helpdesk for appropriate action. A strong awareness of health and safety legislation is essential, along with the ability to escalate incidents or concerns accurately. The role also involves collaborating with regional supply chain partners to support operations, maintain smooth coordination, and resolve issues efficiently. Duties extend to cleaning and maintaining external areas such as entrances, pathways, and outdoor communal spaces to ensure they remain safe and presentable. The successful candidate will respond flexibly to operational needs and work orders, providing general porter support as required. Excellent customer service is key, with an expectation to deliver professional, patient, and courteous assistance both in person and over the phone, handling queries with a solution-focused approach and calmly de-escalating situations before passing on conflict management to appropriate personnel.
Main Role – Meeting Rooms & Event Spaces

Locker Management

Contractor Escorting & Site Access
The role requires escorting contractors and subcontractors around the site and ensuring all visitors follow site safety and security protocols at all times.
Compliance, Safety & Reporting

External Area Cleanliness
Duties include cleaning and clearing external areas of the building, such as entrances, pathways, and outdoor communal spaces, ensuring they remain safe, tidy, and presentable at all times.
Ad Hoc Support
Flexibility is required to respond to daily operational needs and work orders. The role also involves providing general porter support across the site when needed.
Customer Service
The position demands a professional, patient, and courteous approach when dealing with customers both face-to-face and over the phone. The ability to handle queries with a helpful, solution-focused attitude is essential, as is calmly de-escalating situations while referring conflict management to the appropriate personnel.
Personnel Specification
Applicants will need to be able to demonstrate at least 1 years' experience within in a Cleaning Supervisory and working in external environments in all weathers. A proven track record in a customer experience, multi skilled focused environment. They will be responsible for themselves and others to ensure we maintain a safe and compliant working environment in line with the Health and Safety at Work Act and subsequent UK and EU amendments.
Skills & Experience Required
The role requires previous experience in a facilities, hospitality, or customer service position, along with strong interpersonal and communication skills. Candidates should be able to work both independently and as part of a team, and possess a basic understanding of health and safety and compliance procedures. The position also demands someone who is physically fit and capable of handling manual tasks, as well as flexible and adaptable to shifting priorities.
Desirable attributes for the role include experience in event or room setup coordination, as well as familiarity with booking systems or facilities management software. Possessing First Aid or Manual Handling certification is also advantageous, though not essential.
