We have a vacancy for a 0.8 WTE Band 3 Clinical Radiotherapy Assistant within the Radiotherapy Department of the Beatson West of Scotland Cancer Centre.
The Beatson West of Scotland Cancer Centre provides an integrated cancer management and treatment service for patients from the West of Scotland and beyond. Facilities are situated in the Beatson West of Scotland Cancer Centre and the Tom Wheldon Building on the Gartnavel Hospitals site. Approximately 7500 courses of radiotherapy are provided annually requiring over 100,000 patient attendances. The Radiotherapy Department is equipped with some of the most up-to-date facilities currently available and deals with over 500 patients per day.
The team of Band 3 Radiotherapy Assistants carry out various tasks throughout the department and provide support to Therapy Radiographers, other staff groups and patients with a wide range of clinical pathologies and varying presentations, in order to deliver the highest possible standard of care. They will rotate through specialist areas such as the pre-treatment planning areas and all the treatment machines, and with supervision they will assist in the day to day management of the patients within those areas.
