The Role
As the Deputy General Manager, you will be the person making things happen across the entire operation. It is a busy, hands-on leadership role where you will take day-to-day responsibility for all departments. You will act as the right hand to the General Manager, ensuring the business runs seamlessly and that every guest leaves with a world-class impression of the service provided.
* Lead and Mentor: Display a proactive leadership role, focusing on the development, systems, and skills of your management team to foster a great internal culture.
* Operational Excellence: Ensure a visible and involved presence across all areas, coaching your teams daily and ensuring standards never deviate from the best.
* Commercial Support: Work closely with the GM to execute revenue strategies and sales initiatives while keeping a sharp eye on costs, stock control, and wastage.
* Strategic Planning: Proactively assess business risks and opportunities—planning for the next shift, the next month, and beyond to stay ahead of the curve.
* Guest Experience: Champion the guest journey, anticipating needs and resolving any feedback with grace to ensure the brand's reputation remains top-class.
* People & Compliance: Oversee recruitment and training in conjunction with HODs, ensuring the team is well-supported and fully conversant with all health, safety, and HR procedures.
The Person
* Proven Leadership: 3 years of solid experience in a management or supervisory role, ideally within a fast-paced, high-end hospitality background.
* Industry Insight: Deep knowledge of hotel operations and how to navigate the unique challenges of a premium service destination.
* Great Communicator: Excellent written and verbal English, with the ability to build rapport and negotiate solutions with both guests and colleagues.
* Take Ownership: You have a "can-do" attitude and the confidence to act on your own initiative, especially when leading the business in the General Manager's absence.
* Attention to Detail: A natural ability to multitask and prioritise, with a focus on delivering excellence in every minor detail of the operation.
