We are recruiting for a Health Care Assistant.
In this role, you will work within an integrated healthcare framework to deliver high standards of nursing care and psychosocial interventions to patients admitted to the service according to their clinical needs, in line with relevant clinical protocols, policies, and evidence-based practice.
Role Responsibilities
1. Work within a health improvement framework to deliver client-centered interventions alongside Registered Nurses, as part of a multidisciplinary team, upholding professional standards at all times.
2. Assist the medical team with clinical assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of all aspects of care, with and without direct supervision.
3. Support the medical team in monitoring and accurately reporting on the physical, mental, and psychological health and wellbeing of clients, especially for medical detox.
4. Support the medical team to encourage behavior change within the 12 Step Treatment Programme and health promotion.
5. Carry out brief crisis interventions as needed based on medical or mental health needs.
6. Attend community meetings and deliver code of conduct meetings explaining expectations of behavior and boundaries.
7. Manage your own time effectively, prioritizing tasks with support from the registered nurses and multidisciplinary team.
8. Understand safety and security measures when working within a prison setting.
9. All probation-based roles require enhanced DBS and HMPPS security vetting, which can take 3-6 weeks. All offers are subject to receiving both vetting and DBS clearances.
10. Provide necessary information for background checks, including personal, family, co-residents, associations, police, credit, social media, and other government or overseas agency checks.

* Accurate record keeping on electronic systems.
* Excellent communication skills.
* Motivation to uphold infection control practices related to BBVs and COVID-19, including PPE use.
