water and wastewater treatment schemes, this is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join a high-performing commercial team in Aylesbury.
The Role
As an
Assistant Quantity Surveyor, youll support the commercial team in managing the financial performance of a portfolio of water infrastructure projects. Working alongside experienced Senior QSs and Commercial Managers, youll gain hands-on experience across the full project lifecycle
from tender through to final account
while developing your technical and contractual knowledge in a supportive environment.
Key Responsibilities
Assist in the commercial management of multiple
water and wastewater treatment
projects
Support with cost planning, subcontract procurement, and valuation processes
Help manage subcontractor accounts and assess variations
Contribute to the preparation of cost reports and forecasts
Ensure accurate measurement and valuation of work completed
Work closely with project delivery teams to ensure commercial objectives are met
Assist with risk management, value engineering, and cost control initiatives
Learn and apply NEC contract administration principles
About You
Degree-qualified (or working towards) in Quantity Surveying or related discipline
Previous experience with a main contractor or civils subcontractor preferred
Ideally some exposure to
water infrastructure
or
civil engineering
projects
Strong numerical and analytical skills with keen attention to detail
Excellent communication and organisation skills
Ambitious, proactive, and eager to
develop quickly
within a leading contractor
Team player with a professional, positive approach
